I sprayed a metallic paint over indoor steel stair railings that now look dull where it has been handled.?

sorry, you will need to respray it. Once finished apply a coat of clear lacquer.

If you use varnish it will discolour (unless it has ultra violet light inhibitors).

The lacquer is like a clear varnish that you can get in spray cans (or tins)

here is a link, alternatively just google ';lacquer spray';I sprayed a metallic paint over indoor steel stair railings that now look dull where it has been handled.?
hi lene

you can get different sheens. You might want to go for a mid sheen finish such as a satin rather than high gloss which could be too loud.

I would aslo recommend at least two coats. Lots of thin coats are always better than fewer thick coats when spraying

good luck

Most of those one-coat spray paints aren't very durable. I would touch up the dull spots with more paint, and seal it all with a matte or semi-gloss varnish
